Default Truck stolen from field

Cultivating today and as it started getting dark I saw a couple sets of lights pull into my field, didn't think much of it as its a busy road, lots of oil traffic and utility lines getting replaced right out front. Figured somebody was parking for a safety meeting. Then I see more lights and trucks leaving. Including mine.

Normally I park much further into the field but I was burning straw and low spots and I didn't want to stink it up so I left it at the entrance.

This was about 3 miles west of Blackfalds on township road 40-0 if anyone sees it (yes, I'm grasping at straws but I had a lot of paperwork in the truck I shouldn't have). 2015 F-350 with the lower valance missing below the bumper.

Thanks

Hard to believe it sometimes. Hope you find it! Usually the paperwork remains in the vehicle from what I hear.

More than likely they will find it on the saddle hills Indian reserve .
Mine has been recovered there a few times so has my nephew that lives just east of you.....Just don't know why they don't finger print trucks .
Mine was recovered with pop can in the cup holder.
nothing done to stop this.

It sucks, but its a day and age where folks need to start thinking more on the defensive and being more proactive about making sure your property stays your property.

Sorry about your truck. Hope it turns up.

Did you see the youtube where the guy shows how easy it is to steal a locked Ford truck? It took him 43 seconds to drive away with it. with just a flat screwdriver and using it as the ignition key. Nothing was smashed or wrecked. Not going to mention the details for obvious reasons. Sorry about your loss.

I saw that one. My dad had his truck stolen out of my uncle's driveway info Edmonton during broad day light. I don't lock my truck unless there is a gun in it and even then its only because the law requires me to. I also drive a standard which I think deters a lot of people haha.

Unfortunately even when you’re truck turns up the odds of catching the culprits is slim to none. As my brother found out this summer when he also had a truck stolen the police will not finger print even if the truck is full of drug paraphernalia and such. He asked and they point blank said they don’t and won’t do it. Real police work is mostly a thing of the past, now they’d rather spend their time handing out speeding and seat belt tickets. Hope your truck turns up in ok shape.

The old ones before the PATS keys you could do this. If this was a 2015 they shouldn't have been able to take it unless the keys were left in it.

So sorry to hear about your truck! Will be keeping an eye out for it!

Hope the dirtbags that stole it get what's coming to them.

This year has being bad all around the Red Deer area. Last week a friend had the exact same thing happen to him. Watched his truck drive away while he was cultivating. This was west of Penhold 10 miles or so. The thieves seem to be targeting vehicles in these situations. Not like it used to be where you could leave the keys in the truck and it would be there when you returned.

Haven’t heard anything about the whereabouts of his truck. I wish you luck in getting yours back in good conditions.

DR

We need an anti theft device that fills the passenger compartment with pepper spray, after locking the doors and windows, and then disabling both.

The same thing happen to a farmer near Eckville this summer. He was in the swather at one end of the field and watched some guys steal his truck. You shouldn't have to lock your truck when you can see it but as word gets out amongst the crack heads, I'm sure they will be targeting trucks that are left sitting in fields.

Cheapest anti theft device in the world - vise grips on the fuel line (grind the teeth of first).

An old friend of mine used to this with any vehicle he was going to be parking for more than a few minutes. George was a paranoid and cheap s.o.b. (rip)

In the olden days, we used to take out the rotor from the distributor. My guess is a secret bypass switch would be the easiest today. Said dirtbags wouldn't know where to look.
