Default Beaver Mines Lake Report

We were down there yesterday and the fishing was pretty good. My buddy was killing me on fish caught... he caught 29, I caught 10. I did manage to catch this beauty, the only fish I've caught bigger than that in Beaver Mines was one of the brood trout that they release at times.

So you saw BOOBIES?..............lol

That whole area is just beautifull. Do you still catch the odd Bull trout?
As a kid the first ever trout i saw spawn was in the outlet creek. The first bear i ever saw was on a hike up table mountain.

thanks for your post, now im making it a point to head there this year.

You're right, it's a beautiful area. I have never caught or seen a bull trout caught in Beaver Mines Lake. I hear the rumour, but have mostly seen tiny, hatchery released rainbows there. In January we saw a lot of nice fish caught ice fishing, so it's nice to see a few bigger ones around. I caught a huge 8 pound rainbow a few years ago, but that was kind of cheating, it was one of the brood trout that the release at times.

We have caught numerous Bulls on the gravel shores just before ice up on salmon eggs and white jigs.

That is very cool... how big do they get? I was sure that the brood trout that I caught was a bull, but it turned out to be a fat rainbow torpedo with her fins mostly nipped off. I wish I had a camera for to remember the size of her, but her condition wasn't very good.

The biggest we caught was about 10 lbs. Opposite the impessa docks by the fallen trees in the water. Ive seen some other Bulls at the log jam end of the lake also. I was told they got into the lake from the outlet creek vis the south Castle.

Sorry all my pics are when my cam had film, remember those days?
