I have used both and prefer the Nockturnals, never had one fail to light through hundreds of shots.

When lighted nocks first came out I shot Lumenocks. I was basically happy with their performance.

I switched to Nockturnals for a couple years and again was basically happy with them as well...

This year I found a bunch of Lumenocks at an attractive price so I switched back to them.

I do notice that is shooting the two brands side by side, the Lumenock is substantially BRIGHTER then the Nockturnal.

I have never has either brand of nock fail to light....

What is the weight difference between a standard nock and a "nockturnal?". And does the difference greatly effect arrow flight and tuning?

thats exactly what i have found too. the lumenocks a little brighter, the nockturnals a little lighter weight. ive never had one fail either. all i can say for absolute sure is that at 300 plus fps shooting a black arrow at dawn or dusk is mighty tough to see where it went. a lighted nock makes life a lot easier.

Default nockturnals vs. lumanocks

I've used them both and have had failures with Lumenocks, but never with Nockturnals. I'd take them every time.

Default Nocs

Any noc that needs to maintain a specific contact with the arrow in order to stay lit has been removed from my equipment. My experience has been that the nocs that are activated by contact with the arrow can sometimes "back out" just enough when impacting bone, that they go out. Last season, I shot a Muley, and the noc was lit all the way... until impact, and it went out. The nocs that have the internal switch which is activated by the string and stay lit regardless, are the ones I now use - haven't had a problem with 'em yet.

Wanted to try Nockturnals but I couldn't find them in the stores in my neck of the woods, for the arrows I was using. Ended up trying Lumenok, but found a couple times that they didn't light, and the nocks do not hang onto the string like my non lighted nocks, which throws my shot, as I am not "nocking" in the same spot.

Solutions? Is that normal, or did I get a bad batch?

Just bought nockturnals they are not bright and in daylight I couldn't tell they were on. Right next was a lumenok and it was bright and visible! Will trade anyone 6 brand new s style nockturnals for 6 lumenoks any day!!!
