Must have's for bow hunting.
What kit do you consider absolutely essential to have with you while bow hunting? How important is having a range finder? List the things you must have with you when going out on a hunt for a few days.

My latest must have is a Kevlar glove.
That old article spooked me and would NOT want that happening in the middle of nowhere.
Other than that....bino's, skinning knife and usually a shotgun (just in case).
There are more....but I'll let others add em.

..Range finder, small binos..cell phone with GPS..Very bright compact flashlights..and a gallon water carry pack...course all the regular stuff...fire, knives, saw, trail tape...etc...all in my day pack...I use the shoulder harness fanny pack with water and bite tube...its all light and I can shoot my bow like its not even there..
The more isolated the wilderness the more I carry

A rangefinder is imperative in my view if you expect to shoot accurately. It is really difficult to estimate yardage when you are looking at that big muley in front of you!
Also a good knife, boots, and outerwear.

Rangefinders are nice to have. Headlamp is another must for me since I seem to shoot a lot of animals at last light

To add to the list, I really like my S4Gear Lockdown. Great way to carry the binos and helps distribute the weight nicely. Snacks are always welcome too!!

Good boots and fit legs. The best method for making a bow hunt successful is to do it where no one else is.

My wife bought me a Tenzing T1250 fanny pack for my birthday last year. That thing is great, I'm sure your pack will suit you well.

I wonder if the Kevlar would really stop the slivers of carbon.....depends on how tight the weave is I guess.
I would just switch to FMJ and not worry about it. Or check your arrows frequently.
I pack my Binoculars in a Bad Lands chest pack with my tags, lighter and compass. Fanny pack with lunch, day gear and water bottle. Grunt tube fits in underneath the top flap of the fanny pack.
Rangefinder case slides on the side of the bino harness and the neck cord is looped to the chest pack. I find this very easy to dig out with the least amount of movement.
Garmin GPS is in my jacket pocket.

Hand warmer roll
If I'm sitting in the stand, I love my hand warmer roll.
(Like the one quarterbacks use to keep hands warm.) put a couple hand warmer packets in there, and it allows me to only wear a thin bow hunting glove even at -25 in November.
It's nice to be able to feel your release trigger.
I also love the small bottle of wind checking powder.

X2...I hate wearing any type of gloves with the bow so I also have the handy ole Muff..really handy as it just buckles around your waist and its easy to get your hands in and out and they stay toasty warm...I was texting a hutting buddy at the next water hole one evening and found its a great place to keep the phone and was amazed on how much heat the phone emitted to even keep the muff warmer...didnt need heat packs...wouldnt leave home without it either for stands and blinds..
