It's still a morning bite...amazing how those fish shut down after 9am! As the name implies stick with Nakoda, biggest rainbows I've caught in ten years!

Not sure what lake you are fishing but I have never had one shut down at 9 especially Minnewonka.

You want to catch a nice laker you got to put in the time and that means fishing past 9 am.

My experience is they are active to about 11 or 12 then it gets tough again till 7. but they are in there and you have to keep at it till you find what depth they have moved into.

Takes time and a lot of fishing but they are there and can be caught.

I thought minniwanka loop was still closed .. but it might have changed since I last heard..
Trollers right mini slows down around noon but fish can be caught all day if u spend the time and sniff em out .. always a decent bite before sundown . caught my biggest laker there bout 930 pm ..

Thanks for the update Troller.

Is the Loop still closed? Did you get a chance to take a look at the lake?

Last year the debris was thick, I can only imagine what it's like this year...

Did not drive out to the lake. Talked with one of the outfitters and he told me about the closure.

Sure glad I was able to talk with him otherwise I would have driven out there for nothing.

I am sure the debris field will be as bad if not worse than last year. We'll see next week if she opens up.
