Default Finding a job as a power engineer/operator in current market

Hi all,

I had a question I know a VP (must be at least a few hundred VP's in the company) of a large oil company which employs 50,000+ employees worldwide, I'm curious is that enough to get me a job in this down economy the way everyone has been getting laid off recently? Thanks in advance for your replies.
