Considering Carolina was down 4-1 half way thru the 3rd period I’ll take the Betman point in lieu of LA getting 2x

With the Oilers off for almost 2 weeks they will have to have a training camp again to get them going, that's a long break

I'd be worried of the cost to acquire him at the deadline. Certainly not worth more then Lagesson and 2 picks for Kulak at last year's deadline. But I have a feeling the price on D will be driven up this deadline if Karlsson and Chychrun are both made available.
D men have always commanded a kings ransom, especially top shelf guys.

I quit watching the All Star game and the skills comp years ago. I find them both pretty boring.

I think that the league wants to avoid having games on Super Bowl weekend.
A break for players is nice as it allows guys a bit of time to heal any minor injuries.

The NHL allstar game is this weekend when there is no NFL games just hype and media stuff leading up to the super bowl game on Feb 12, that way the NHL allstars get this whole weekend to themselves. There are 4 NHL games on superbowl Sunday including the Oilers but they are all in the eastern time zone and all start early so they will be done by kick off.

Future Calder Trophy Winner Stuart Skinner looking sharp in the All-Star threads. Although the event is pretty disappointing, would rather the boys use the time to rest.

What does the collective agreement say about this theater?

There must be $ involved somewhere for the players to make such a ridiculous spectacle of themselves?

It reminds me of the Slap Show runway walk, all Poor Disney.

I watched some highlights on YouTube . It was very cringe worthy and the game highlight were not exactly inspiring. If this is what the NHL has to offer now for all star break , they would be better off to just have a week off and rest.

Didn’t watch even the highlights this time, but I never understood the point of all-star games beyond ticket sales.

My guess is something to do with them appearing as per the CBA. Huge revenues for the league too. It's a joke of an event.

As for the game part of it, I wish they would bring back where the current Stanley Cup Champion plays an NHL All Star team like in the 60’s. Let the players win some money and make it competitive…

The problem with that, is there was only six teams back then. Could you imagine the Avs this year, facing off against the best players in rest of the league. I can't even imagine what that 31 team all-star team would look like.

Yes Foegele has come along nicely as have Desharnais and Kostin which is good to see, Kane is no where near 100%, his timing is still off and you can tell he is favoring his left arm, it's going to take a while. I think Pool party is on his way out, just the feeling I have

I hope the Bison King is on his way out. Guy had 2 chance here while playing with some great playmakers and still could not get his game up to where it was expected to be. Too bad he is not aggressive, can you imagine if he played like Kostin or Archibald with his size.
