No Frills has nice looking frozen smelts.

I’ve started catching my own bait (cyprinids). I go to my favourite minnow lake and catch a ton of them on a cricket and a micro spoon. It’s unreal bait compared to the shiners and smelt that are sold in stores.
Yesterday I was out at my favourite pike lake and did a test... lake chub outfished mackerel for pike hands down.

Having said that, T&T has great bait

If you fish these walleye infested central lakes and know where and how to fish walleye ANY minnow will more than suffice. No science there, they are pretty much starved most of the time. Throw any gas station tub 'o' minnows kinda minnow down there and sheez game on bud. Just noticed you were looking in edmonton area. Any edmonton area lake with wallies is pretty much a walleye sanctuary and no need for fancy bait to fill their sunken bellies.
