Default Easter weekend camping ideas

Thinking about heading out on the long weekend hopefully find some open water. Thinking of somewhere down in southern Alberta any ideas.

Rossi, last year I tried to find a camping area in Central Alberta prior to the May Long and only 2 spots were open--Burbank and a small campsite west of Morrin. I can't remember the name at this point. All others, private included, were not open till the Long weekend. Again this year, I am on the search. I believe you are searching the right area--south. BEL

My brother-in-law's whole family goes camping Easter weekend every year. They go to Radium, BC specifically because there's not much available in AB then. No open water though, are you trying to get a boat out?

Most years Beaver Mines, Beavais, Police, and Lees Lake lose their ice by mid to late April.
