Default Reloading

Wholesale Sports has a Lee 50th anniversary reloading kit on for $125. For those of you who reload is this a good quality kit?

I am looking at getting into reloading and have decided I should start off with a quality kit that I won't be replacing in a year.

The Lee kit works great. It isn't as strong as the RCBS but it will definitely get the job done. I believe it is on sale for $99 this week.

Actually on sale in the Christmas flyer for $99.88. Decent set for a low volume setup also limited in some aspects of case prep. If you get into reloading seriously then you will probably end up replacing most if not all of the components.

Default It's a good start!

Lee is a long time player in reloading and stand behind their products. They are not as good as MEC or RCBS but they will definitely get you started on the right foot. You will pay for the original cost in no time. Most of us started with a hand loading system for shot shells for $20.00 from Lee. It all grew from there.
Enjoy yourself.
P.S. I still use the old hand system to make my son 12ga. buckshot.

I think the press is probably the only weak point in that whole kit. But it will load shells really well as long as your not doing too much heavy sizing and such. Use it till it quits on you and buy a classic cast or a rock chucker press. But realistically it'll probably serve you for years and years.

I agree. That kit represents the best value in reloading imo. You'll be very pleased for longer than you expect.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, it sounds like this kit would be a great starting point.

How is everything working?
Have you whacked any more coyotes this winter? I'm still looking for my first.

The press I sold you is the Classic cast. The press in the anniversary kit is the Breech lock. I agreer, the breech lock is the weak point in the kit but for the money it's very good.
