Default 20 Year Old Savage 30-06

So i just recieved a call from a close friend of my parents. He was telling me his friend lost her husband not to long ago and is now selling his rifles. There is a old savage roughly 20 years old. Bolt action and in 30-06. He didn't get a chance to see what model but says its a wood stock and in immaculate condition. Also has an older scope mounted on it. Ahe would sell it to me for 200. He thinks its a 110 or 112 model.

Anyone have experience with older savage rifles?

They are still a good rifle and will make a solid hunting rig. The aftermarket doesn't support the staggered feed actions like the newer center feed and scope bases are a little harder to come by as the rear of the action is flat and not round like the new ones. The triggers haven't changed so anything aftermarket will work there. The bolt and the way they lock up is the same as the newer ones, so as long as the barrel and bedding are half good it should shoot great. Good luck.

If you don't buy it I will. That should answer your question.
