Hello,

does anyone use this Alberta TOPO Maps for GPS ? :
https://www.backroadmapbooks.com/alberta-gps-maps

- the description says "Enhanced cartography for improved display of parks, conservation areas, Crown land, creeks and activity Points of Interest."
"Marked Wildlife Management Units (WMUs) for hunters" and many other goodies.

Please tell me your opinion if you do like that product. Is it worth spending $129.95 to buy it? I'm new to Alberta and need some good maps.
Thanks.

I see some people here say that those overlays are $20 each one per every county. Is that correct? Also, iHunter depends on 3rd party online maps, i.e. Google or some free maps as an option. I guess unlike Google maps the free ones can be cashed for offline use inside iHunter? It is to say that if there is no cell network coverage than the only way is to use good ol Garmin. So I will give a try to iHunter, thanks. Yet it is probably nice to have those TOPO maps inside my Garmin.

Don't know if this is the one you're referring to: Genesee Range. I wouldn't say 1.5 hr from Edmonton. Located on the river flats about 5-6 miles from the Genesee bridge.

Take the first right coming up the south side of the river -- about a km from the bridge, 50 feet later there is a 3 way junction, go left. You're on old 770 here heading SW.

Take a right. Straight just gets you onto the edge of the cooling pond. About 100 meters later turn left. At this point you are heading west on TWP 510. After about a mile, the road does a switchback down the river bank. THIS ROAD CAN BE IMPASSABLE AFTER A FREEZE/THAW, as it's steep and can get icy. It doesn't help that cell reception in the area is spotty, and mostly limited to high ground,

The range is at the bottom of the hill on the north side.

There is also an unused gravel quarry just south of the river end of 510.
