Default Finally got my moose!

Well I hunted hard right from sept 1st on. October 3rd and I still hadn't seen or even heard a single moose even after extensive walking, calling, sitting and quadding. Morning of October 4th I set up just before dark next to a small slough that bordered an old cut block and started calling. Got a response within 10 minutes. Took this guy over 2 hours to make his way through the bush to me, grunting back at me with every call I made. Broke out at 150 yards and one shot right in the boiler room with the 7mm and he never made 5 steps. He didn't have a real big rack but the front shoulders weighed in at 212 pounds each dressed. Big boy! what a relief after so many hours not seeing anything! The best part of it all was my wife was with me the whole time! Oh well now Buck fever is setting in hard. Come on November!

Congrats on a fine moose. WOW those front quarters seem heavy, hopefully I don't have to pack my moose out on foot this fall.

Congrats. Those are big quarters. The front qtrs on my moose this year were 200 each. The work really begins when you pull the trigger on those big bulls.
