Default Need some feed back on a pike caught this spring

hey im new to the website and me and my cousin were out fishing the last day of the 08 season. caught the biggest pike ive ever caught... 45 inches long with an estimated gurth of 14-16 inched...did not have a weigh scale and we wanted to release the old girl...after further thought i would really like to know how much this fish weighs. ive heard everything from 20-34 pounds...any thoughts??

I agree with drake. I have one on my wall that is a 1/2" longer and 15 3/4" around the girth, it's weight was 24 and 1/10th of a pound. Awesome to catch this size of fish, hey!!!

Good job.........

Yeap and I also agree. I remember there is a website where you can input the length and girth and it will give you an accurate weight estimate. Good thing you didn't weight it that harms the fish. THANKYOU FOR C&R'ing. GREAT FISH!!!

I think you are really underestimating the girth on this pike. A 16" girth on a 45" pike actually is a relatively skinny fish.....which this fish is definately not. I would put it 17+.....closer to 18.
High 20's for poundage.....very high 20's.
I have alot of pics of 40" pike with 16-18 inch girths if you want to see to compare.
Nice fish!!! HAWG!

I agree my 38" from a couple days ago was 15 around its girth and my cousins 40" today was also 15 around the girth, so that ones probally a little closer to a 17" or 18" girth. Nice Fish
