Default Two lives Lost

As some of you may already know, two of our fellow trappers, father and son, I believe, lost their lives, when the cabin they were sleeping in, burnt to the ground.. The cabin was located, SE of Swan Hills, so somewheres between there and the Fort.
Only sev years ago, it almost happened to me, when the stove pipes (uninsulated) in the attic, burnt thru and there were sparks in the belfry. It was someones wish that I live for another day.
My most sincere condolences to the family at this time and I wish for you all the support that you will need during these times.....doug.....

Very sorry to hear this sad news.
Just yesterday, I was asking my friend Dave why his stove was always smoking, after a quick inspection we found one piece of pipe split open and the next length rotted through at the joint. The pipe was only two years old. After replacing both pieces he found the elbow of the stove half full of soot.
You have to check and clean every year for safety sake.
Because Dave was told it was a straight pipe, he was told he did not need to clean it.
After fixing it he realized how lucky he was not to have burnt his garage down.

Do you have names, Doug?

This is a link to a trust fund set up for Chads wife and soon to be born son. Chads wife has been my wifes best friend since they were young and I became friends with chad through them. Very sad event which if you would like to help follow the link. Angel needs all the help she can get right now. Or you can go into any Scotia Bank and say you would like to add funds to Angel Janke's account. Chad was an avid outdoorsmen and used to help his father guide in his spare time. He was doing what he loved, what all of us love to do. Thanks you for reading this post.
