Default CVR Report

My Dad and I made it out to CVR on Saturday, we went in at the boat launch, and left on Red rock road. Lots of ice 16-18 inches. fishing was great. We had 5 Pike in the bucket by 10:30, we fished for another hour trying to get the big one. we threw 4-5 more keeper pike back, and a few small ones. around 11:30 we kept number six, and headed over to the west bank to let go of some 7mm rounds.

I heard you retrieved a lure from a pike's stomach. There was more ice than that on the east side. two one ton trucks pulling shacks were on the ice with us . we were there yesterday

Default lost lure

I got bit off twice, I lost a ratlin rap, and a Saskatchewan jig. when we were cleaning the catch. we recovered the jig. Would have been even better if I got my rap back.

Congrats Rider. Good to hear some fish were coming out of CVR Saturday. We were over on the East side by the islands which usually produces some results but not on that day.

well If we catch one with a rap I'll give it to your old man I broke off a pike at the hole but managed to grab the line with my hand and bring him in . First time I ever did that. He was just too slippery and slimey to grab. Saved my fav jig though.

Are you guys jigging or just letting your hook sit with rod in the holder?

We have been putting a smelt on a jig head and pulling it about a foot of the bottom. Ya the borrowing traditional way. Last year we were nailing em but Saturday was more like a sight seeing trip.

all my pike were caught on still line smelts, as well as one Burbot. Walleye liked the jigging action , slow ,small jigging
