Default Big Pike question

Anybody had luck catching the big girls near the Wabamun Lake or Fallis boat launches? I've caught tons of big fish from the (former) power plant outlet but I only seem to get the little guys from my canoe. Anyone got any advice?

I am out at Wabamun at least once a week. Every bigger fish 8lbs plus came out on the "deep side" of structure. This is, in most places out there, 14-20ft of water.

You can spend all day casting from shore and never land anything above 4-5lbs. You simply can't get your lure out far enough and you certainly can't follow the drop off. You are casting past the structure and back to the shallows. Your lure has less time in the sweet spot. Wabamun requires a boat to consistently catch big pike.

PM me and I can outline the spot specificly and what we are doing. We are landing 30-40 pike with 25% over 7-8lbs (decent fish) consistently. We have also caught a few very big ones (I have some nice pics of a few that are over 40").

Catching the small ones 2-5lbs is not that much fun after a while.
