Default Arctic Grayling

I've never caught an Arctic Grayling before. Would like to give it a go to cross it off my list.

Casting from shore.....what would you use for a lure? Size of lure? Color?

Thanks

Hey Jakeman I'm not avid in fishing for grayling but I did catch a bunch when I was guiding up in b.c. All we were using was small spinners Mepps, Panther Martin types. Nothing special but we were hauling em out left and right.

I have only spin fished for grayling once. As stated about, I did very well with panther martins

I've had some luck at quarry lake in Canmore. For me, small spoons are all that works and I almost exclusively get hits while the lure is sinking. While reeling in, nothing, only on the sink. Anyone else find the same?

Hey CanadianTruth:

Any particular color or pattern for the small spoons?
Line weight?

Was up at the Quarry last year several times and nothing. Was throwing mepps, panther martin, roostertails, and every spinner in the box at them. Even took out some bass plugs and jigs. At the end was casting wet flies and nymphs with my spinning rod.

Could see them jumping and taking whatever off the top but wanted nothing I had to offer. Perhaps the spoons are the trick up there.

Thanks

Me and sons been killing grayling with small 5 of diamonds spoons. Yellow spoons with black diamonds. Even tried yellow spoons with red diamonds and they didn't work quite as well.
