Both Yukon and Alaska I used a #2 Fox spinner. Silver colour.

Tried plugs didn't work. Also used spoons similar to Len Thompson but much
heavier. They were silver with a raised Green plastic insert on the body of hook. The spoons are available in most fishing stores in the Yukon, but didn't see any in Alaska. Got mine in Hougens in Whitehorse. They are on main street.

Fox #2 is sold by most fishing stores. #3 was too big and #1 was too small.

The number is posted on the spinning part of the hook.

Default Spinners

If you're going to use spinners I'd recommend trying out some Panther Martins. From my experience they work way better than a Mepps. Silver and gold are my go to colours.

They were stocked in Chester Lake back in the 80's.

On second thought that might have been Artic Greyling, it was one of the two.

Nope, those are Dolly Vardens, a species completely on their own, despite historically being confused with Bulls.

Closest we have to Arctic Char in Alberta are the Quebec Red Trout in Block Lake
