Default skunked around Rocky mountain house

Went out today and came home empty handed... Hit the north sask river, and cow lake. A huge pike took my spinner....that will teach me to use leaders. Always heard the only thing that comes out of Cow lake are little perch. Couldn't catch those either!
Anyone have any other suggestions for good places to go without a boat in that area?

if you want to turn to leaders, may i suggest using flourocarbon; bet you will catch more fish than you do now if you don't already use it. for toothy critters like pike, i use 44lb rio flouroflex and have never been bitten off
look, even 12" will work...

cheers
