We were upstream a ways from there last weekend (Tolman Bridge). I was trying the 5 of diamonds but it didn't work so well, usually does. Ended up going with a worm and a bobber and that seemed to work a little better. I noticed lots of little white bugs flying and in the water so if you fly fish I would imagine it would be better.

If you can't get worms and are good at catching those bigger grasshoppers they work well also.

Just in case your regs arent handy

"from the Tolman Bridge (Sec. Rd. 585) downstream to the Alberta/Saskatchewan border

Walleye and Sauger limit 3; Walleye over 50 cm; Pike limit 3 over 63 cm; Burbot limit 10; Goldeye limit 10; Lake Sturgeon limit 0; Bait allowed."

Was out on the Red Deer just South of Sundre the other day. If you flyfish I was using an Olive Marlbou bugger. Tried on top for a while but not much action. Put on a sinking line and brought about 5 to the bank. Smallish browns and one Bull trout. Nothing of size, but it was a lot of fun.

River has change course in that area due to recent flooding and created a bunch of new channels and pools that still need to be investigated.

Where there are small fish there are bigger ones.

Spoke to some hardware fishermen using small spinners and they seemed to be doing much the same as I was.

Good luck.
