Default Transducer Cable Protection

Question for everyone out there about your boat and transducer-

Do you have/use anything, or what do you suggest to use as a protective layer around your transducer cables/fuel lines/steering/electrical/etc?

Last year I had to replace my transducer and cable TWICE due to beavers chewing through the cables on overnight trips. Not having a sonar for a few days on big trips is not fun. I would rather have an effective and much cheaper replacement option...

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know where you are fishing but thats just bad luck.

You could try placing a flexible stainless braided sleeve over the cables as used in plumbing perhaps.

I can't say I have ever had that happen nor, come to think of it, ever heard of this before.

These beavers obviously hate you.

They wait until they see you come to the lake and target you.

What did you do to them?

All kidding aside, unless you use something that they can't bite through, seems to be you are just wrapping up more stuff for them to chew on.

That’s a first for me too and have fished a lot of places and know a lot of friends that fished more places than I have. Should use a trail camera and catch them in the act

Don't need a trail camera, I have caught them in the act. If I had a boomstick with me...

I actually know a few people this has happened too, and it seems to be a frequent issue on a lot of the lakes I fish. Go figure.

These guys do these wraps, but I can make something more effective and cheaper myself. Just figured I would see if anyone has had issues, but I guess beavers dislike me more than most...

You should catch them on video! Might go completely viral!
