It gives up a few internal pockets and "built in" organization to the bighorn but I find it more comfortable.

She never even put it on
On the bright side I liked it

I have the sitka bivy 4500 pack

I think you are a little critical, to me it is well made, if used for
The right purpose, good enough for my hunting needs, I diddnt
Spend thousands of dollars on hunting gear/optics to carry them around
In a burlap sack, its good gear, gets my stuff where I need it to be.
Has the options that I wanted, I like the strap sysetem as well.

IMO unless you plan on packing out meat its a better option for multiple use, to some of the 9 and 10 lb packs empty you are lugging around

For hiking I use light gear, my osprey 7500 is @ 4 lbs, that gives me extra weight room for .... schoolbooks I suppose haha

The K2 5500 exo mountain pack looks like a great pack as well. I just hate reading reviews from guys that got the pack for free.

I've got the 2016 Mystery Ranch Marshall and absolutely love it. I'm 6' and it fits perfectly. The pack is beyond comfortable and carries weight very well. I don't find it heavy and have also used it as a day pack(a bit overkill for a day pack) but It collapses way down if I need to. I figure it's basically a Metcalf but with more pockets. (Which I really like). Also their customer service is second to none.

Has anyone had any issues with the Stone Glacier Packs? Do they pack heavy loads well? Any durability issues?

6'3 as well and I have tried a number of packs.
My current pack is a Kifaru Bikini. Had a problem with the waist belt originally, but they took care of that and it has performed pretty well with a number of elk packed out with it. The biggest issue for someone taller is the frame height and setting the load lifters at a proper angle. I have no issues with the Kifaru.

I don't have a ton of experience with any hardcore packs (badlands ultraday is all I use) but recently got the Eberlestock F1 Mainframe and it is wicked! Sure beats hauling quarters and gear on your shoulder!
The F1 is compatible with the F2 transformer and WSS even had some "team elk" packs which are the F1 and F2 together.

I am 6'3 and use the stone glacier kruX frame. fit is good. Might up grade to a 3 pieces belt. Was getting some slippage with 120 pounds plus my last pack out. The slippage could have been from me placing the meat to low in my pack. The couple times packing heavy before that did not have a issue with slippage on the waste but used the load shelf those times.

Has anyone tried Vorn Equipment backpacks? They look cool but that is kind of a poor measure.

I am going to try the Mystery Ranch Marshall pack next which is on sale right now. It looks similar to their 6500 only a couple pounds lighter. Does anyone have experience with the mystery ranch packs and NICE frame system that they would like to share? From what I have read it looks pretty good.
I got a MR Metcalf this summer. Ive had it on easily 20 plus days. Im very happy with the way it carrys a load. Had about 95 lbs loaded on a 9km, very steep pack out. Worked great. The meat stayed secure. Fits me great.

My opinion on the whole overseas mfg. You will get the same quality pack as a US made pack. MR are sewn in the Philippines. The Montana facility makes military packs and does R&D. Besides, if they were sewing them in Calgary you can bet the workers would be philippino. Its the materials and quality control that make the difference.

Default Marshal

My brother and I both bought a marshal a month ago. Just got back from a sheep hunt. Put on just shy of 70 km, took a little adjusting at first but we both are impressed. Rifle straps in good and bow straps on back good too. Never got to use load shelf. We're both about 6' 190lbs and the medium is what we got. I really like the top lid compartments. My previous pack was an Alps so not too much to compare too but thumbs up for me.

I have the Stone Glacier Solo and it is very comfortable once all the adjustments had been made. Simple, very lightweight, seems strong (haven't packet meat out yet, just like 80 lbs of sand). If I did it again I may have gone with the Sky Archer 6200 just for more space for later season hunts, but I got mine used on rokslide, so it wasn't really an option at the time haha. Either way I really like the Stone Glacier system, and the add ons you can get if you want.
