Default 57" Moose sheds

Me and the boys were out grouse hunting and stumbled onto these. They were about two feet apart. Might have to switch zones on my moose draw.

Maybe from the same Bull, but from different years.

I was in a helicopter on a training flight. Of course I spent most of my time looking for sheds. lol....
Spotted a big moose shed and told the pilot to bring her down.

Jumped out and ran over to the shed, picked it up and saw another smaller shed underneath.
Same bull, same side, one a year older than the other....

I've seen 4-8 big Bulls together grouped up after the season is over. Could have been pushing on each other and dropped. Or the second bull could have leaned down to smell the dropped shed and he dropped his. Found patches of sheds in the mountains where Bulls winter before too.

Bulls will yard up in winter. A few years back found 6-7 sheds all in an area of about 500 square feet. Quite a great moose area on the Notikewan river.

Back when there was still a huntable population of moose in Swan Hills, my buddy and I were on a trip, and I found a nice shed.

A week later, he shoots a 40-something inch bull and I took one look and said, "I think that shed we found earlier, is from the bull moose you just shot."

We held the shed up to my buddy's moose and sure enough, they were exact.

Yes, the shape of the brow tines, palms and all that was almost identical.

But when I say exact, I mean, every blood vessel, in the bone, was the exact same position. Not a deviation in how those blood vessel patterns were laid out.

It was very interesting to see.

Btw, those are decent sheds, but I'll be the first to say they don't look like a 57" bull to me. Mid 40's" I'd say.
