I was in the same perdicament a few years ago and I ended up getting the black gold. IMO it's a better deal and life time warranty on the pins as well

I really like my Spot Hogg 7 deadly pins, although that many pins can get confusing once in a while. The overall quality and precision to adjust is great though.

Black gold is tough and photochromatic. Really like it. Everyone who looks at it is quite taken by it. Plus I got my 5 pin camo version for only $99 canadian.

Probably both of good quality.

I don't think you can find a better pin site than a spot Hogg. Very well built and easy to adjust. I use a Hogg it on my hunting bow.

From what I can tell they are both great sights, with good reviews. I have a seven pin hunter hogg it on my bow right now and a seven pin axcel armortech pro on my shelf. I like the Hogg sights for hunting because it's a very durable sight, but also because of the vertical wire which makes pin gapping, especially at farther distances. The pin adjustment on the Hogg is a bit of a pain, the armortech is way better. I can't speak for the MBG sights because I've never owned one, so I'm not sure on the single pin micro adjust. The other thing I wonder about MGB is the weight, for some reason they don't list it on they're website. I'm not a big fan of the purple and neon green color scheme of the MBG sight, but that's a personal preference, not a performance issue. In the end they both seem to be a sight you won't regret buying, if weight is an issue for you, you might want to contact MBG and find out how much they weigh. Another thing you might want to consider is the vertical wire for pin gapping. After using the axcel and Hogg side by side for a while, the vertical wire is what made me put the Hogg on my hunting rig. If you do go with a Hogg, make sure you get it wrapped.

Avidhunter, you may want to look at the Axcel sights also. By far my favorite sight of all time.

All I've ever used is Black Gold so I can't compare but it's been great in a variety of conditions and helped put a lot of meat on the table.

The sight rings are interchangeable to what ever color you want and the purple part is the photochromatic portion that reduced the pin brightness. In direct sun, it turns purple to reduce the pin brightness.
