Default Taxidermy donations ?

Anyone have any taxidermy they want to get rid of?

I'm running a hunter ed program through a school and we'd love to take your old mounts to help kids get best experience from the course.

We are especially looking for bird mounts because the kids really struggle with bird ID from using pictures alone.

AHEIA has a trailer that they’ll bring right to your school. It’s full of things like that.

Put an add up on Kijiji etc. looking for free taxidermy for educational purpose. Many people inherit mounts from family who hunted and they have no interest in having a mount in their home and do not want them. Many people also call into sporting good stores looking to off load mounts. Relation bought a house in Kimberley for skiing and it came with a Grizzly bear rug....

I'm not sure if its a trailer or if they ship you storage bins full of stuff. I beleive its storage bins.

Either way, we do use AHIEA's kits as both me and my partner teacher are trained through AHIEA, but the iteams are not your schools to keep and those kits are not always avaialble. It adds an element of planning/timing that if possible we'd like to get away from.

Plus, our idea is to create an outdoor/wildlife classroom where when you enter the room, it has a "walking into the wild" feel to it. Kids respond better and are more engaged when the room suits the topic.. keeps their interests up.

Plus, as mentioned you can't keep those AHEIA kits and I can't tell you how many times I refer to AB's various wild animals over the course of the 5 month program.

Good ideas!

I'll do a kijiji add soon.. I kind of moved away from using kijiji for anything personally.. It seems full of dealers and scams and not regular people now.. But worth a shot.

I'll send you a pm.. I might have someone donating an antelope already, but doesn't hurt to have a back up.
