Default Sylvan lake

Hi,
This is only my third time posting so not sure if these are appropriate questions to ask. Any way, here goes.
It was our first time last Friday to go to Sylvan lake for white fish. We fished from 10 till 4 in Norglenwold area, only saw about 5 fishes all day. We fished around 16 ft of water. Heard there are a lot of white fishes in this lake but couldn't seem to find them. Trying to bring teenagers out this weekend, and they never fished for whites before. It would be nice for them to see fishes even if we don't catch anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've always caught whites from 3-10 feet of water, so I'd try coming closer to shore

What were you fishing with?
Try small spoons and kastmasters jigged just off bottom

Try gull lake use the wilsons beach access and go left you will see the large amount of people out there use brass or silver thumpers and smelts on a tip up for pike you should see tons of fish this time of year in that spot and should be able to cautch a few whites just bump the bottom with your thumper and then lift it up a inch or so repeat at a pretty fast rate and do some hole hopping fishing is usually better in the morning. Hope you limit out
