Default Bohemian Waxwings

I was headed outside my garage and had a flock of 100 or more bohemian waxwings land in my front yard tree. I have 2 feeders and remnants of berries still in the tree.

They weren't bothered by me at all. They picked away at all edibles. My phone was in my truck so no pics but a really cool way to start the day. There were still there as I drove off on my way to Swamp Donkey outdoors....

Sweet, it's nice to see them. They were out here a couple of weeks ago and cleaned up what was left on the trees here. Just the odd Robin and some Rosy Finches around here so far. Waiting for the Bluebird male to show up and claim his house.

They are really entertaining when the berries left on the tree are fermented, and the birds get totally loaded.

Agreed, I love to see them, they show up in my yard in large numbers usually in February when it's cold to feed on what's left of the small crab apples, they hang around for a couple of days, then gone!

I've been privileged to see a huge flock / swarm of waxwings and it was really cool to see and hear the activity.

Now, the dang flickers that have decided to wage war on my house are another matter. These are the bane of my day lately and are 'protected'.

Growing up those waxwings hit every Mountain Ash in the hood inc our yard. So cool to watch those massive flocks. Not sure if they found greener pastures but I have not seen them like that in years and I have remained in this area since I was that kid.
