Default Wabamun Lake ice conditions

I was just wondering if people have been driving out recently? I'm thinking of heading out Saturday. The spot I normally go to would be a long walk.

Default Ice

I was out Saturday in town. Ice was about 14 inches. 8 were good solid and blue and 4 were white. I left my 3/4 ton on the shore and walked out but there were about half dozen half tons out around me.
Fishing was really slow. We had 3 hits on the tipups and caught a couple of perch in 3 hours.
Good luck.

A little thinner out there - not quite enough good ice yet for the driving on.

Maybe 9"-10" clear ice from there over to Fallis. Lots of soup on top of the ice.

I measured 16 inches of ice where I'm at. No issues asides from no fish.

No word of a lie. Just as I posted this, a 26 inch 4lb pike grabbed my jig and minnow.

Pulled him Through the hole and snapped a pic!

Snall one, but it's a fish!

I did. To give you an idea, I took my 06 F-150 supercab 4x4 on the ice. I had no issues with it.

I checked with the chick at the race track gas station first for ice conditions.

Only around 9inches of solid clear ice at Fallis today. Fair bit of flood-water but good action for pike. Biggest was 11lbs! I for one wont be driving out anytime soon.

Nice. I'll Ned to check out fallis. It's easier in the boat to get where you want.

At this point I'm still a little sketch going on the ice in my truck with measurements of 9" at fallis.
