Default Good 2 hours at Ste Anne!

Ripped out to Ste Anne today after basketball, got set up around 3:30 and fished till 5:30. Ended up landing 1 dink pike and 4 pretty good eyes. Lost about 10 eyes to (i know what a rookie) Bite picked up around 4:30. Borrowed willowtrails marcum showdown flasher and it sucks... Only because now I have to get myself one! First time using a flasher and it was so cool seeing the fish come off the bottom towards my hook. Btw in the last pic thats a size 13 boot. Lots of flood water and about 10-12 inches of good ice.

Next two arent very good pics but you get the idea

You scared me a bit there......I just bought one this week!

Thanks for the post/pictures. I still have 3 class B tags to fill and it motivated me to get my butt out there to fill them.

Isn't a flasher great! Watch it and when you see a fish appear watch your line and set the hook. Love my flasher. Catch rate = 50% improvement.

My father in law lives close to ste Anne. I am visiting at Christmas time and hope to spend a day on the lake just before Christmas. I have been looking up the lake on my navionics lake map app for my iphone. This is new territory foe me as I used to live in Hinton. I am hoping to catch some walleye but I have to figure out if I can get some of these walleye tags. This is new to me as I don't have to have tags for fishing walleye. I just go for my 4 possession limit. Is the ice good enough to drive on? I pack a lot of gear and always have driven on the ice. Any feedback or pointers would be appreciated as it is a long way for me to fish as I live in manitoba. Always looking for someone to fish with.

^^^^You can't just go out and buy walleye tags. There's a draw for them in the Spring.^^^^

hunter dave is correct fishin guy, but there are a lot of undersubscribed walleye tags available and they are cheap. not sure how it works for a non-resident but it wouldn't surprise me if your father in law could get them. good luck.

Sigh.....I am starting to realize that. I guess I am spoiled for walleye fishing in Manitoba. I miss living in Hinton, Alberta for fly fishing for trout. The ones here are so muddy tasting due to being stocked in warm water lakes. I guess I can still catch them, just don't want to eat them. If you want to see great walleye look up greenback fishing at the Red River. I go in the fall and catch huge football hogs that would make anyone drool. The color is amazing!
