Default What the heck is this?

I was looking up the ultimate ice fishing shack and this is one of the images google gave me. I looks half perch half sauger. Is this some sort of eastern cousin?

I've seen some interesting colours and patterns of walleye over the years but never anything like this. Definitely looks like a perch and walleye/sauger cross. Male perch fertilized some walleye eggs, or vice versa. Pretty cool.

Cool

Juvenile walleye. Caught lots like that out of sylvan . No quite as vivid as the posted pic. Zander have a more uniform bar pattern and less spotting on the dorsal fin.

Roundness of the dorsal and feint bars on the side look perchy..... The rest says walleye.... Even with the white spot absent on the bottom of the tail....... Looks pretty "chunky" as well for a juvenile walleye...... Very weird indeed... Sauger with heavier than normal barring?

Caught one almost identical to that last summer in the NSR. Thought it was a Sauger with heavier markings than usual. Was close to a foot long and very skinny.

It sure looks like one. The way the website is I would think it was a picture a costumer took rather thanks Ontario. Wouldn't be the first time someone picked a photo of the wrong species to post with a story.

Zanders do not have dark spots on thoracic, anal and pelvic fins. It looks like young saugeye to me.
Sauger for sure was involved in it in some kind of way.
