Default Yukon hatch charts

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knew of any websites or books with hatch charts for the Yukon. I had a friend send me one from an old magazine but it encompasses the whole territory as a whole not specific water systems and is very general. I have searched the Internet many times but have been unsuccessful, even emailing a fly shop/guide in Whitehorse with no reply. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I have never seen any hatch charts for the area.

However, toss with confidence the good old Stimulator (orange or red), small adams, mosquito, elk hair caddis, and even tom thumbs.

For deeper holes, the clouser minnows in black and white or blue and white always produced well.

I read an article a few years ago that also said stimulators, but in a dark mottled grey colour. I'll tie you up a couple of you want

Tons of grayling in the creeks. Trout not so much. Also a lot of pike. As far as hatches go. Think Mosquito patterns. Pretty much any dry fly will entice graying. If you tie your flies or can get your hands on a pattern with rolled deer/moose hair to stay nice and high on rough water the grayling will be all over it. Spin casting use small black or gold spinners. Smaller the better. I hope that helps.

This is an Alberta forum so idk how much luck you'll have finding information on the Yukon. Here's a hatch chart for the general area of Alberta if anyone's interested.

Thumbs up Yukon flies

Never had a grayling refuse a Green Drake or Parachute Adams while I was there. Pike and lakers took clousers ,deceivers, zonkers the more important thing was to get down to them so take more than a floating line unless Grayling are your only targets
