Anyone know what is happening over there? Their website has been down for a day or two.

I think most people on that forum are here too. The mods from there have a much higher post count here than there. I don't think anyone would miss out on anything if it disappeared for good and after seeing people from that forum take shots at this one then post way more here I think the quality of the posts are as dismal as the quantity.

Default Well, I disagree

I think FFC is valuable and would hate to see them go. The mods post more because they don't run it as a free for all like this forum. And for the most part, I think that's ok. FFC did use to be better though. But overall, the regulars on it are a very good group of people.

I am biased though - been a part of the community for years now, so it's like wearing a comfortable old hat.

I started FFC some years ago because I wanted people to help new fly fishermen. When I started out fly fishing I came across a lot of people on the Bow who just didn't want to discuss anything.

"What's working today?" "Flies" made my blood boil.

It's a great site with a lot of great people. Forums are really hard to manage successfully. You just can't make everyone happy.

Anyway, I've long since sold the site but help out here and there. It should be back up soon. It's a expiry thing.

Wrong,

If FFC were to disappear I would have to come to this rednecked forum much more and soon I may start believing that the NDP is at fault for every problem that has ever been encountered in Alberta.

Great idea starting it and very savvy of you selling it. AO added a flyfish section and it has most of the members here that are there and are more active here. I would believe that the majority of members there will learn of the access problem at ffc because of this site rather than encountering problems accessing ffc. The current ownership of ffc could possibly try logging in a little more often too.

I like both sites. I'm more of a lake fisherman now that I have young kids. There's lots of great info on both of these forums.

I like using FFC for one reason and one post, the bow river report. Its nice being able to see whats going on there daily. If there were consistent bow river reports here i probably wouldn't even bother with the other site.
