Default Bear Pond Report

Me and a buddy were out at Bear Pond in K-Country yesterday, the grayling were quite cooperative. Lots of risers through the day, but we were having good look with various nymph patterns from 1' - 4 feet deep on a sinking line. Nice day to be out, despite a bit of rain and wind at times.

They don't stock that one with trout as far as I know.

Looks like a great day out, glad to see the grayling are getting bigger since the restocking a couple years ago after the winter kill.

Any sign of bears in the area? I heard a report, but honestly don't remember where from, that there was a Griz hanging out around the lake this spring and giving a few people grief. Not sure if that report was accurate, but thought you may have seen or heard of something while you where there.

We didn't see any bears, bear sign, or any signs warning of bear activity in the area.

Was up there a few weeks ago, did see a big cougar a couple km's east of the pond. Definitely gave myself and the other two I was with a reminder that we are not alone. Definitely be aware! Saw some bear scat on the way to big iron though, so there is some in the area. We didn't make it all the way to big iron, kind of got turned around and decided to back track to bear pond and catch more fish!
