NERD ALERT!!!Post your LEGO projects or submit some ideas
Me and the boy are working on building a combine today. Found ironically Lego projects with my 5 year old are the only thing keeping my mind off the painful divorce I'm going through. Today's project is a combine with tracks. No kit, probably won't look quite right, but we don't care.
Thought there's gotta be some Lego nerds out there with some cool ideas or projects.
So far me and the boy built windmill on top of a garage with a lake with alligator and a fish that eats toast.
The typical firetruck project, that turned into a fleet of 5 fire trucks of all colors. With tankers in tow.
Tractor and plow.
Semi trucks of all shapes.
Bus...etc....

I have been attempting for some time to re-create a Kenn Borek twin otter. My daughter was initially very happy to help but somehow the allure of princess lego has terminated that dream for both of us.

No Lego builds for a lot of years now .
used to babysit two brothers , who had a lg box ( about 16" x 24" x 18" tall . filled with Lego . Just bricks etc , Lego hadn't started doing the kits yet .
I spend the evening , after they went to bed , building for " them " ,( I got no enjoyment ) something for when they got up in the morning .
It's amazing what you can build when you have so much Lego to build with .
Lots of fun , as I never owned Lego myself . Was more Tinkertoys/Lincon Logs when I was little and then into Meccano at about 9 or 10 .

Lego is awesome.. Inspires Creativity.. Our family is pretty big into it (although we aren't at the level of some here), and my son is getting into rebuilding kits into different colors.. Example, He has the Ferrari semi w/indy car, He rebuilt the semi in black and customized it as he saw fit. Pretty cool in my books.
I'd like to get him into the motorized lego, but I can't justify the initial buy-in $$..

Loved Lego as a kid, but can't even believe how expensive the stuff is nowadays. Even second hand stuff goes like wildfire. I had one bin (wasn't even that big either) from when I was a kid that I threw on Kijiji a few years back for $100, and within an hour I had sold it for my asking price and the lady who bought it was thrilled.

We have made it a point to get each of our kids a Lego set each Christmas. Uncles/Aunts and Grandparents have too. We now have a room full of various Lego sets, built and set up for the kids to play with. They often pull them out into the main room in the basement and build a city. Star Wars, Lego Friends, City, my old stuff form when I was a kid.... Great fun for them!

Some cool kits at the Lego Store in Edmonton. Contemplating getting my 5 year something ridiculous like a Track Hoe or Eiffle Tower and watch him go hard for 15 hours.
Once he is into project he barely drinks or eats

The Lego Tecnics stuff is pretty cool. Son got the crane and plane sets from grandparents one year. Took him 1.5 days to build.
