Default Cold Lake Lakers and Ling

Hello folks need help regarding ice fishing for ling/lakers on Cold Lake. What is best for both to help in my success. Never ate Ling before, saw a video where a guy catches a Ling, pulls the skin off, cubes the meat, boils it and last puts it in a pan with butter...poor mans lobster?

Little early for ling. mid feb to mid march is best. 40-60' down use any big heavy jig and bounce it off the bottom. Creates a mud cloud that attracts them while spawning. Stinky bait helps. Trout is something I can't catch readily to save my life. Most people will be having good luck now.
