Good. Give the guy 12 t-bone steaks for every maggot he kills. Pickton should be worth 2 dozen.

Why waste medical resources on this guy? Already short enough. Leave him in the cell, if he survives he survives, if not? No bubbles no troubles

Probably gonna catch flack for this, but I've never been convinced he did it. The farm was a known hangout for HA members, unsavory characters through there regularly. The obvious defense would have been that someone else did it... an angle I dont remember Pickton ever taking.

Even if he didnt actually commit the murders he had to know about them, probably knows who did do it, and deserves to be in prison just for that. Did he deserve to get stabbed in the head? Not a call I'd make.

Is it wrong that i just lost respect for Ian Runkle or is it just business and i shouldn't hold it against him?

It might be good that runkle is his lawyer. It’s not like he’s going to reduce his sentence or help him much. But runkle getting to be high profile makes him and his views more powerful.

I find it very odd that this happened now.

Especially since people are recently starting to dig into the story again in the wake of the RCMP's announcement of their intent to destroy the cases' evidence (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...ence-1.7055215). The names of some very high-profile individuals are beginning to surface.

And in a somewhat related matter, the US Supreme Court refused to set aside the murder conviction of Omar Khadr after he admitted it to get a plea deal. Good on them.

I probably wouldn't hold it against him. If he's innocent, he deserves quality representation, if he's guilty, it should be fair.

I agree, I think there’s some very well placed people who were involved and I’ve never seen a case hushed up so tightly. He didn’t operate alone.

Basically, when the story first broke, the Hells Angles connection was mentioned right off the bat and my first thought was "Well good luck making that stick." Instead Pickton kept his mouth shut, did a bit of delaying and reduced sentance manovering, and ultimately went to jail without much of a fight.

Still seems weird as hell to me. The only reason I can think of for how that played out is if the consequences of making the obvious argument were going to be worse than life in prison.
