Default Bass Pro in Calgary sure needs....

Mermaids!

Had the pleasure of visiting Vegas on the weekend and had to visit the Bass Pro down there to see what the american version looks like. Their Bass Pro is actually attached to a large hotel casino so the sal****er aquarium is really the casino's but it's right between Bass Pro and the casino. But their Bass Pro had an enormous aquarium (huge catfish and bass!) AND a separate big waterfall pool (with something that looked like a 4 foot sturgeon) with real ducks, crazy!

In case anyone is planning a trip down to Vegas, Bass Pro is opening a condo next to the strip and offering $50 (or $150 can't remember for sure) gift certificates to sit in a tour/sales pitch. We didn't know this beforehand or we would have attended but we were leaving the next morning Either way the Bass Pro is very neat to visit as it's somewhat different to ours with very different products.

Its just north of Calgary. Never been there but it seems pretty close, and they do include the word Calgary in brackets on their site.

ROFL...semantics. Never heard of Nisku or Beaumont..but if I knew someone from there, they would be "from Edmonton"!! When I tell friends back in BC about the new Bass Pro I tell them "yeah we have one here in Calgary now!" If i told them "no, its in Balzac" they laugh their ass off and say "...BALLsack?? "

And I can't wait to go to the Bass Pro in Vegas, whether its in Aliante or Summerlin...its still Vegas!! awesome pics, Slingshotz!!

I'll be there in a week. We rented a '58 caddy for a day and I have BPS, In-n-Out and cheetahs loaded on the GPS. Can't wait, Might even get a trip to Mead for some stripers in if the ladies want to shop for a day.

I was there this past weekend.
I must say Calgarys BPS is a better store.
I think LV is a bit bigger but we dont have the massive boat floor they seem to have.
Also our selection of Camo is much better.

Still though, a cool to place to hang out. And yes I like the mermaids as well.

Jamie

BTW It's a very cool casino. Clean, Low $ table games, food was alright and I loved the decor. It's got a cabin feel to it. Location is a bit of a pain, but if your just passing through, it could be a great place to stay.
It's to far off the strip to enjoy for 3-5 days.

Actually if you want to be that techncial, it's not in the village of Balzac either. Technically it's in the MD of Rocky View or now known as Rocky View County.

That makes it 'The Hamlet of Balzac' if it's government is the county, like Sherwood Park.

I would call it Calgary, being from Ontario if I said I was from Mississaga or Scarborough most would associate that as Toronto or the now "GTA"
