I don't know if tankers were at the hill or not .what I do know is there were no tankers , water trucks, etc that came to help ranchers fighting spot fire the next day despite requests to do so. I also know that there was no controlled burn that night. The crew that does that was actually trapped inside the townsite by fire that had surrounded them on two sides.

No those areas haven't had a fire in the last 40 years that I've been accessing them, there might be a few areas near Chief Mountain that burned when the Pole Haven went up but the rest haven't had a fire in a very long time.

I hate to be to critical in circumstances like this because it isn't an everyday occurrence and we all tend to get complacent but it seems that the municipality could have stepped up more than they did.

I believe that was the sofa mountain fire , on the Chief Mt highway
