Was able to sneak away for a couple hrs yesterday and hit Scope Res,, at least I am pretty sure that's what its called ??? just south of Hays..
We tried in the main trench first in about 20 - 25 feet of water with nothing not even a sniff for an hr and a 1/2. So we moved over to a corner where it looked like it was dredged out. I drilled 2 holes and we had decent water about 10'. So I started drilling a few when whamo yup you guessed it ran er in the sand
there go's a set of blades.. Good thing I left the new 10" Jiffy at home and brought the old 8" with me,, the blades aren't quite as expensive to replace.. But my buddy that was with me had his Jiffy so we moved over off of one of the drain gates and punched a couple and found decent water depth. We drilled about 8 holes and got at er. Wasn't long until we started getting hits. It was by no means hot and heavy but interesting. In 2 hrs we managed 6 Pike, 2 hammer handles and 4 decent fish. Very strong solid fish for there size I would put them in the 4 - 6 pound range. I brought one 70cm home for fresh fish and the rest went back..
Sorry boys no pics forgot the camera at the rig..
