Thumbs up A MP was just in my yard

No, not the Military Police, I did not do that thing on that night with those people on camp Wainwright....

Shannon Stubbs dropped by to say hi. Her contingent is trolling around town, asking if we had anything we would like to discuss, anything that is concerning us as Canadians.

I told her she didn't have enough paper, then confided that I have people on the way to buy my shop equipment, and would have to call her at a later date. Rotten timing.

What should I tell her? She was however nice enough to stop by.

a man never short of words around here didnt have 5 minutes to spend with an mp at his door? That was your chance to speak your mind and you dropped the ball.

Last politician to stop by my house got an earful.

Regardless of which party is in power. If a MP lends you a ear. It should be used to have your concerns heard. And everyone should be capable of having a productive conversation with someone with opposing political views.

I would bring up the fact that with people nowadays not cooking enough food over open fire is leading a knuckle hair epidemic! I saw a guy the other day with I swear 1.5" long knuckle hair. That's a guy that doesn't flip logs enough ya know!

I heard you did do that...oh well.

I would give any politician an earfull, good or bad. Not too many opportunities like that present themselves.

he's hardly dissing ken. I'm the one who said what i said. Why would the mp give ken 5 min of her time later if he couldn't give her anytime at his door?

I'm genuinely curious why such an outspoken person wouldnt take 2 min to speak his mind on subjects that are important to him.

I had my ndp mla doing a survey at my door asking how their doing for my riding about a month ago and they got an earful and failing grades. I've had a candidate for my riding 2-3 weeks ago and he was given the topics that would determine how ill be voting.

I'm sure if it was in person and not behind a keyboard he wouldn't have anything but compliments for Ken.

I'm positive of it actually.

I will agree. We whine and moan about the decisions they make that we don't like but when one actually asks for a bit of input we don't have time

I had people coming to buy my metal fabricating equipment. I didn't write it in Spanish the first time. I was busy.

Well that is a series of responses I would have never expected. Like you Ken, if I had the free time I would have given here chapter and verse with what I think is wrong with this NDP government. That said, I would NEVER expect it to make one iota of a difference. I have talked to quite a few sitting MPs, their minds are made up on what is right and the rest of us are just full of crap. Despite the decades of failed socialist policies all over the world, they believe that THEIR set of policies will work this time. The only reason the NDP go door to door is so they can say they have touched the people.

To me, talking to zealots is a lot like trying to teach a pig to dance. It wastes your time and it annoys the pig.

Weird responses for sure. So no one has ever been going out the door or had an appt when someone shows up and said I can't talk now?

Lol, not behind that keyboard you're not.

The reason I say things would be different face to face is because I actually know Ken and I bet you are a LOT tougher behind that keyboard than you would be to his face.

I've been to meetings with Ken where the other guy had lots to say over the phone but when we drove half way across the prairies and sat in his office things were much more cordial.

No Actually no I don't believe in kissing anyone's ass
Why give the other guy power over you ?

I am sure Ken is a big boy and can look after himself without any help from anyone

And I have no problem calling anyone out on something keyboard or not

Just because that guy is a two faced wussy, doesn't mean everyone is.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Seen it first hand MANY times. But Ken is the fun loving peace man, right? So not sure why this would even be a concern.

Cheers

i believe you have no problem calling people out on the keyboard, I get quite a few chuckles when you do actually. As for calling him out in person, for the same things you do on the keyboard, and using the same tone, I highly doubt you're that ignorant.... or tough.

NO, the bigger they are the more bones they break!

And I am a fun loving peaceful guy. I just play the game to match the competition. Anyone that has to resort to violence Is never ready for what's coming, generally because they are ill prepared, a bully, or unable to understand others. They cannot express themselves in words, it frustrates them and they revert back to base instincts.
There are some hyper intelligent people in here too, that I think become frustrated because we are unable to keep up with them intellectually.
Then there are the monkeys slamming keys hoping for a peanut.

Wouldn't know, haven't had one ever be successful in that. Mostly because the bigger they are, the MUCH slower they are.

But i do agree, they're usually bully's, and are often put in their place with a little confidence sticking up to them.
