Default Starting point for 308 norma mag.

Want to make up some loads for 308 norma mag .
Was going to buy some 190 grain Match kings BT and load them with 4350
Rifle is an old Browning FN BBR
But are those matchkings ok for big game or are they only for target use.
Have not seen any Game king Sieara in 190.Are they out there ?

Could anyone share some load data what worked in their 308 mag

Yes, you can buy 190 Sierra Game Kings.

Although Sierra does not recommend it, there re quite a few long range hunters that use Match Kings, the idea being that by the time the bullet gets out there, the light jacket performs properly.

Default Here's what I use........

I have the same rifle and it thrives on 72gr of RE19 or H4831/180gr bullet. For deer/antelope 71.5gr IMR 4350/150gr bullet. The FN Browning Safari has a 1-12" twist so may not shoot the 190gr well but they do handle 180's.I'm getting 150gr's into pretty much 3 in the same hole and either 180gr loads 3 into 3/4" or less on any given day.FL size .300 Win mag for cheaper brass and trim to length.Only lube outside of .300 brass to the shoulder height of the .308 Norma and do inside of neck to avoid oil dents then trim to correct OAL.Harold

Default Norma

I shoot 165gr Sierra SBT and have done some with 180gr SBT. For powder I use IMR 4350.
