Yep for sure, was a great time. Brings back memories of me as a kid fishing in my home town on the mighty NSR.
this is the first year that ~Octane~ and I have ever Open water fished together, as it seems the only time we go fishing was winter.
SO......... yeah, walleye bite was on for sure, a bit slow, but thats the norm for this time, would have picked up some more im sure on a Lindy Rig with special bait, but i was having enough fun with 1/4 oz jig heads tipped with a rubber tail jig worked on the bottom. Misquitos were very bad but bug spray helped. Just notice them in the picture of the Pike, i think the pike pic is blurry due to the camera maybe focusing on the misquitos????
Managed 3 walleye myself, and a small pike, about 3 or 4 more takers but missed the hookset. Fouynd the walleyes are back up to thier old tricks again and fighting harder than they should be for thier size. My largest of the night i swear was about 8 pounds until i seen it in the net
~Octane~ caught his first ever open water walleye. Glad to be there. To bad about the pic on his camera, as it messed up and didnt allow viewing of it. A shame as it had really nice colors
Looking forward to the rest of the season on the NSR, its only begun, and with gas prices the way they are, ill be visiting "Home" alot this year.
Some pics, hope you enjoy, some are crappy as i left the camera on the wrong setting
