Default Southern AB, gotta love it!!

Haven't been out fishing for a few weekends so Pops and I decided to head out for a couple hours late afternoon on Saturday. Couple minutes before we decided to call it quits, he roped into a beauty!! Sunday we decided to try a new spot we've never fished before. With the wind being 50-60km+, and not much action, we left and headed to our old stomping grounds. Within 10 min of getting our lines wet, we roped into a couple beauties, back to back!! (less than a minute between hits) Here's a few pics for you folks! Cheers!!

Hi I am hoping to get back into fishing this coming spring. Are there any good spots in Rocky View county or Mountain View county and what bait or lures do you recommend?

I'd like to help but I've never fished that far north. Give smelts, herring, and anchovies a try. Shiners on a jig head work well for any type of fish.

Thats great guy's, and I really mean it. I think it's great that your getting your father out for some fishing.Hope you continue to do that for many years.
Have to say that though you have some great fishing and hunting down there, I just can't get used to the shoreline not having any trees. Just looks so barren to me.
But, hey Congrats on some monster pike.

The smile on your Dad's face says it all. My late Dad used to smile like that in the early 80's when ice fishing once he caught a few hammer handles and especially if I had brought a case of Standard Lager in Stubby bottles.

Default The last weekend for me!

Went out for my last weekend of the hard water season. Saturday I headed out with a buddy, who hasn't been ice fishing for 3-4 years. We caught a little walleye and one of my 3rd heaviest, measuring in at 46". The look on his face was priceless when I pulled this big girl out of the hole!!

Sunday...well we won't talk about Sunday (long/slow day)

Monday my father and I hit a lake where we're able to keep 1 for our freezers. We managed to bring in a 5lber and a 7lber.

Hope everyone has had a great and safe hard water season! Cheers!!

Nope. She went back like the other big girls have! The 5lber and 7lber were caught on a different lake than the 46". With my biggest one, I'm planning on getting a replica done one day.

Thanks everyone! It's been a decent hard water season!

Might look that way, but she was out of the water less than 5 min. Enough time to take the hooks out, weigh it, measure it (which is why there's a touch of snow on it), take a couple pics and put it back. Swam away just fine!
