Default Lac Des Isle Lake

Well the guys in our group may be looking at going to Lac Des Isle in mid June fishing, mainly for walleyes. Anyone here have any experience there in terms of numbers and quality? How about other lakes nearby?

Lac Des Isles has decent walleye fishing but they are harder to find. For Awesome walleye fishing go down the road to Waterhen Lake and you'll have better luck.

Lac Des Isles used ot be such a great fishery. When I was young I would see many 20+ lb pike out of there. Nowadays its mainly smaller pike and the walleye are hard to find. Too much pressure and awful limits back in the day leading to people keeping too many fish I suppose. Was there a couple years ago and fished all day for a handful of dinks. Id go to
Cold Lake instead.

I've been going to this lake for 24 years now and there used to be a lot of fish in the 4 to 8 lb range, in the last 3 years all you catch are small ones with net marks on them. This past year the nets were all over, from one end of the lake to the other, that is what is hurting this wonderful lake, it has nothing to do with the limit or fishing pressure back then, it's what I happening now that is killing the lake.

Hey John, Bluesky asking same question on other forums and getting same answer. Too bad, was looking forward to a possible change but, I'm good with wherever we end up!

Default Lac des Isles at Goodsoil

Biggest walleye in the tournament there this past August 26 was 73cm. We averaged 55cm but the numbers were low, probably due to the weather. Most boats got their five.

This was a catch/photo/release event; presumably no fish died. Looking for a 60cm average next year.

I'm told there are lakers and whitefish but we did not target those in the few days we had. Saw them on the screen at 45'+

Wishful thinking. We averaged only 45cm. Leaders were closer to 55.
