Default 22 lever

Hey I'm looking to buy a 22 lever action in the near future and would like some suggestions? I had an old Ithica years ago and later a 9422 but all got sold during harder times. Are there any 22 S/L/LR 22 levers out on the market now? If not which is a good choice in just 22 LR? I'll probably have to put a scope on it as the old peepers are fading but the gun will be mostly for plinking and just "fun" shooting.

Thanks

I have had good luck with Henry Arms

You can't go wrong with a Browning. My family has 6 of them.

My buddy also has a Browning lever 22, and it's a nicely finished, good looking rifle if you asked me.

Didn't know Browning still made the lever 22s? I'll have to look into that. The Henry looks good though. Thanks guys

I bought a Henry Golden Boy for my buddy as a wedding present. I was impressed with the fit and finish of it and he has no problems with reliability. I honestly don't know how it will fair over time though, my father had a couple of Ithaca lever guns but the feed mechanism used aluminum (or some alloy) parts that wore out. Not sure what Henry uses but I do know of Brownings that are rather old and still functioning.

Default 39a

Went into Wholesale to look at the 39A today. Realy nice gun and nice finish and feel but kind of big for a 22. I think it weighs as much or more than my old Winchester 94 30/30. I think the barrel is longer for sure. Can't wait to have a look at and handle the Henry and Browning.

I bought a Browning lever about 30 years ago, one of the best 22's I've ever owned. My dad ended up with it, I was down there last week and saw it was still in his cow truck as a gopher gun. Good rifles!

Stick to the Browning. Very well made, good fit and finish and pretty accurate for a lever. No experience with Henry so can't offer advice on it. Used to be a BIG fan of the Marlin 39A and if you can find one that is 4 or more years old, they were a good gun. Bought a new one last year, it was junk, after a LOT OF WORK, ended up getting a refund from Marlin for it. Bad gun and worse service.
