MV report scam??

I listed my camper on kijiji as well as RVtrader a couple days ago. Twice now I’ve had txts from wonky area code numbers saying the same things in the conversation about how they want a MV report an they send a link to a website. What’s the deal with this scam I’m curious? Anyone else had this issue?

Almost every single person who has listed a vehicle of some sort on Kijiji has had this issue. Multiple threads/posts about it.

Bottom line- delete those replies and forget about them, it’s a scam. If the buyer wants a report- he can run it himself.

I read a thread on reddit about this very thing. The reports are legitimate, the people are working for commission tho and every report they sell they get a piece of the $. One guy said he had 25 people call him and all ask for reports but the 2 he had, Carfax and softvinreport, he was told by the callers were not enough. So the "scam" is just they want you to pay for the report and they get money

Everyone I had call also promised to buy my vehicle if I bought the report.

ask for a deposit and tell them it will be refunded if they get a bad report on your vehicle

Don't reply to texts! They are pay per use texts. Every time you text them , you pay for it!
