Default Gull was a bust for me:(

Headed onto the lake at Wilson’s beach right as it was starting to get light.
Went 2 or 3 hundred yards out over 6’ of water.
10” ice.
Over the next 5 hours I had 7 whites come in, check me out and leave.
Seen 2 burbs also.
They wouldn’t commit.
Had no maggots so maybe that’s why.
Jaw jacker was 5 feet away with a ww half way up the water colum.
Jigged another ww close to the bottom.
Oh well. Go look for maggots.
Trying sylvan tomorrow.
I have better luck there.

Fishing is not about the catch it’s about the time on the soft/ hard water

Hey Moose

That was me you talked too whilst the Dumb Ass was moving his truck so people could get in.

Managed 2 White's and lost a 3rd in the hole today. Saw 11 total with most eating Drunk as they missed the Hook. Had to jump to a few of our other spots to achieve but all in all it was a Stellar day!!!

Good luck over at Sylvan

That is why they call it "Fishing" and not "Catching". Seems i am a good at fishing but not catching also.

Rookie, who tells people they didn't catch a fish?

I would have bet a hundred bucks there was no honest fishermen in the world. I guess I would have lost.

How is the snow cover...any? Just wondering if I'm better cleating up and walking out rather than sliding around in the skidoo. Thanks.

I imagine any snow blew off the lake just like it did on Sylvan yesterday, I'm planning to hit Gull at least twice next week, was wondering what the water clarity is like this year ?

It’s crusted in some spots and like glass in others.
The water was clear this year at Wilson’s. Same as sylvan for clarity if you can imagine.

Easy to walk on. But be careful on the glass sections.

Many Tks ... the last time I fished Sandy Point it was murky, this should help fishin that sunken island in deeper water.

Cheers

I’m going to try Sylvan for the first time tomorrow. My only question is where are the places to access the lake? Can you park a vehicle there and leave it for the day while you walk on? I’m not looking for favourite spots. Just a place to park and access the lake. Thanks.
