Question Bird Dog Recovering from Surgery: Need Calgary SW Swimming

I am 16 weeks post op with the 6 year old lab that had TPLO Surgery. She needs to get into the water 3-5 times a week and i am not paying for that to be done in a pool. Pheasant season is going to come quick...

I have been trying to get her into Elbow river at Spingbank/Weasel head and am only finding low water...

Can you please help and share whereabouts of a public water access that is in close proximity (10km) to Calgary SW.

I appreciate any thoughts you think would help.

Where abouts are You in the sw? Access the river by 22x and Deerwood or go to dalemead lake or red deer lake or any of the storm ponds in Auburn Bay, Cranston, Seton and so on

Have you tried going to the south end of 37th street to north Glenmore park, hiking down to where the Elbow flows into Glenmore res and picking a suitable spot there?

I've never paid attention to any dog rules down there, so forgive me in advance if I suggested something that is verboten

This was one of the first areas I explored (good thought - thanks). I have tried to get as close to the res as possible (against the rules going into it) and not finding access that is providing any water depth.

Griffith Woods - lots of good swimming holes for dogs. Off Hwy8 in discovery ridge. Prob 7 Kms from you.

Southland dog park has some good water. Just watch out for beavers, hear they bite

Yup, they even have a fenced off area made precisely for the dogs to swim.
Everywhere else, is "technically" against city bylaws.
