Default Federal non typical whitetail ammo

Hey guys. Just grabbed a couple boxes of this non typical Federal at P&D the other day. 2 boxes of 150 30.06, and2 boxes of 100 .243. For the price point I figured it was worth a shot at the range. Anyone have experience with something other than paper? Shot placement and all that, but I always went with corelokt’s in the past (mostly for affordability) but as they’ve crept up in price, I thought I might try the new ones out.. any opinions?

Remington ammo has developed a premium price for clsome reason or another. I've always been a fan of the cor-lokt round. Good bullet. But reloading them has become a hen's teeth situation. I think the hornady white tail is an sst bullet which is the 30-06 Might be too fast for woods work, but 300 yds or more...

I've used the 150's in a .308. The same factory loads. Slow kill at 100ish range. Slow drop at 250. Add about 100 yrs to the '06 for the same results.

Don't have anything to say about the 243. Never owned one

Haven’t noticed the price of corelokts going up. In fact I’ve seen them come down in price.

Same as the federal blue box. Worked great in my 243 on paper and a freezer buck...about 200m

I got some for my Savage 110 in 7mm-08. I was very surprised when I tried 3 of them at the range, they clover leafed at 100. Next round was put through a whitey heart at 85 yards. He walked 25' and was done.

I've also put maybe 60 through my BCL102, had what would be expected from a battle rifle, never had a FTF or a FTE, haven't shot any game with this rifle

So far I'm happy with these rounds for the cost.

Thanks for all the responses. Took it out to the range and the 243 definitely liked them more than the 30.06. .243 was shooting around a baseball at 200 yards, the 30.06 was more like a basketball.. both shooting from a rest in a bench.. might go back to the trusty corelokts for the .06, but the .243 definitely earned another box with its performance.
